Dr. Alex Chen received his PhD in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) from Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China and DAOM (doctor of acupuncture and oriental medicine) from Five Branches University in San Jose, California. He has over 20 years of experience of helping people recover from diseases as well as maintain healthy life. He believes that the body has powerful self-healing capability. Traditional Chinese medicine is good at facilitating an in vivo environment to promote the healing power. He treats wide variety of diseases such as mental disorders, skeletomuscular problems, skin, gastrointestinal, endocrine diseases and infertility. All these are possible because traditional Chinese medicine always treats diseases in a holistic approach.

Dr. Chen taught several primary courses in Five Branches University and Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Science when he practiced Chinese medicine in California. He can clearly explain Chinese medicine to his students as well as his patients. He constantly gives talks about different health topics in health seminars and a radio show. He actively participates various health fairs and events to spread the concepts of traditional Chinese medicine. It helps more people benefit from this type of medicine. He volunteers to treat people in need in different organizations such as Volunteer In Medicine, Samaritan House and Tzu-Chi foundation.

He has been practicing Tai Chi for about 25 years and currently teaches Tai Chi in Kirkwood Community Center, St Louis Community College and Meadowbrook Country Club. He likes to read books in different subjects such as Daoism, poetry and write Chinese poems.
